White Mountain Stallions of Wyoming splashing in water as they challenge each other for supremacy. I photographed these horses in the wild at White Mountain HMA, and painted them in honor of the legacy of the bands of thunder that run through the sage, play in the wind and survive the most extreme weather conditions with no shelter in sight.
This is a 36×18 oil painting on a 1 ½” deep canvas, painted with luminous layers of transparent colors to create glowing reflections of sunlight and moving water.
